3. Capture Opponent’s Piece: To capture an opponent’s piece, a player must move one of their own pieces to a square occupied by the opposing piece, removing the captured piece on the board. The pawn can capture an opposing piece diagonally one square forward and to the left to right, while a Knight moves in L-Shape and can jump over other pieces to capture an opponent’s piece. To capture a piece, an attacking piece must finish its movement in the square where the opposing piece is resting.
4. Check: Check occurs when a player’s King is threatened by another player’s piece. If at any point in the game, a King is intimidated directly by another player’s piece, in their next turn they will be able to capture the King. The ‘Check’ basically means that the King is under attack and has kept him in Check. While playing Chess, a player cannot make any move that puts his King in the direction of another piece so that he is in Check.
5. Checkmate: Checkmate refers to a situation where a player’s King is under attack and cannot escape from capture. A player wins the game after putting the opponent’s King in Checkmate. Checkmate is the ultimate goal of Chess. Checkmate can be achieved through a variety of methods, such as forcing the opponent’s King into a corner, trapping it with other pieces, or delivering a powerful attack with multiple pieces.   • Upon selecting the game, select on the pots of your choice and you will be entering into the game against an opponent.

  • The White team will play first, followed by the Black.

  • There are a total of 32 chess pieces on the board, with each side having 16 pieces.
  • There are 6 distinct types of Chess pieces. The ultimate goal is to deliver a checkmate by trapping the opponent's King.
  • Rook: Move any number of squares horizontally and vertically.
  • Queen: Move any number of squares in any direction.
  • Pawn: Moves vertically forward.
  • Knight: Can move two squares vertically and one horizontally, or two horizontally and one vertically (drawing a shape of L).
  • Bishop: Move any number of squares diagonally.
  • King: Move one square in any direction (an exception to this is "Castling").

Check

This will happen when a King is in a position where it can be captured by a hostile piece. To remove the King from a check position, the player can do the following:
  • 1-Capture the piece threatening the king.
  • 2-Move the King.
  • 3-Block the threat.

    • This happens when the King is in an inescapable threat of being captured. By doing this, you win the game.

    Losing Conditions

    • You lose the game if you run out of time.
